Admission Criteria

How We Assess Your Application

A holistic review of your academic and personal profile.

At Brussels College, we consider each applicant individually. Our admissions team reviews your qualifications, experience, and personal achievements to determine the most suitable entry path for you. Below are the general requirements for our programmes.

Undergraduate Programmes (BSc in Business & BEng in Software Engineering)

  • Foundation Year: Open to applicants aged 16+ who have completed secondary education. While the standard English proficiency is IELTS 5.5, admission is also granted to applicants with a minimum of IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent). For these students, the Foundation Year is adapted to include an intensive English program designed to raise their proficiency to the required level for progression to Year 1.
  • Year 1: Requires successful completion of the Foundation Year, or equivalent prior academic qualifications (e.g., A Levels, APs, IB, Matura, LYS, WAEC) as assessed by the Brussels College admissions office.
  • Year 2: Requires successful completion of Year 1.
  • Year 3 (Top-Up): Students who complete the Foundation Year, Year 1 and Year 2 at Brussels College continue directly into the final-year Top-Up stage.

Postgraduate Programmes (MBA)

  • Year 1 (Level-7 Postgraduate Diploma at Brussels College): Typically a good bachelor’s degree (any discipline considered). Relevant professional experience is valued. An interview may be requested.
  • Year 2 (MBA Top-Up via WINC): Progression from Year 1 at Brussels College to the top-up is expected for our students, provided they meet WINC/University of Greater Manchester academic and English-language requirements and obtain final admissions approval.
  • English Language: Normally IELTS 6.0–6.5 (or recognised equivalent). Applicants who are native speakers or who completed prior education in English may be exempt with official confirmation. For those below the threshold, an Intensive English Module may be required pre-sessionally or alongside initial study, subject to advice.

Required Application Documents

To assess your eligibility, we typically require the following documents. Additional information may be requested based on your profile.

  • A valid passport or national identification document.
  • High school graduation certificate/diploma or equivalent. For postgraduate applicants, your bachelor's degree certificate and transcripts.
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV), especially for MBA applicants.
  • English language proficiency certificate (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL), or proof of prior education in English.
  • A brief personal statement (primarily for MBA applicants).
