A Step-by-Step Guide

Here's a detailed look at each stage of our admission process to help you prepare your application.

01

The first step is to complete the online application form. It is crucial to upload all required documents, including academic transcripts, diplomas, and a copy of your passport. A complete and accurate submission is essential for a swift and successful review.

02

Our admissions team will conduct a thorough review of your application, assessing your academic qualifications and English proficiency against Northwood University's admission requirements. An offer letter is issued upon successful evaluation. Key criteria include:

  • Undergraduate (BBA in Management / BS in Computer Science): A secondary school diploma with a "C" average (2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), a minimum of 5 "O" levels, or the GED equivalent. Standard, unconditional entry requires IELTS 6.0. Applicants scoring IELTS 5.5–6.0 are still admitted directly into Year 1, with mandatory concurrent enrollment in Brussels College's English-language support program. Applicants below IELTS 5.5 are not directly admissible to Year 1; our Pre-University Foundation Program for this group is coming soon, pending final Northwood academic approval.
  • Graduate (MBA): A completed Bachelor's degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale) and a current CV/resume. Standard English proficiency requirement is IELTS 6.5 (or an equivalent score on another accepted exam — see our eligibility page for the full list).

03

Upon receiving your offer letter, you must secure your place by paying the full tuition fee. For international students, this step also involves arranging proof of sufficient funds (e.g., a blocked account deposit). Once payment is confirmed, we will issue the final Enrollment Certificate needed for your visa application.

Proof of Financial Means:

You can prove sufficient funds via Studely, an IBZ-recognized blocked account provider for Belgian student visas. Visit studely.com/en/belgique for complete service information and instructions. For detailed guidance, see our visa requirements page or FAQs.

04

With the Enrollment Certificate, you can apply for a Type D (long-stay) visa at the Belgian embassy in your home country. The application requires a standard file of documents, including your Enrollment Certificate, proof of payment, financial means, a valid passport, academic records, and a medical certificate. For more details, please see our visa requirements page.

05

After your visa is granted, you can finalise your registration with the college, make travel arrangements, and prepare for your arrival in Brussels. Our student support team is available to assist with accommodation and any pre-arrival questions you may have.
